Brampton IslandBrampton Island is one of the Whitsunday islands most popular holiday destinations. The resort has been operating for generations and after a number of different owners is now run by the United petroleum group. As of mid 2010, the resort has undergone a total refurbishment and is again welcoming visitors. Getting to Brampton Island is easy as it has an airport that has connecting flights from both Hamilton Island and Mackay and there is also a regular ferry service from Mackay marina. Brampton Island is a National Park that contains some spectacular island scenery. The island has many bush walking paths and a circumnavigation of the island will take you to many secluded bays and beaches. It is easy to get away from the resort and find your own private beach for the day and the resort will provide a prepacked picnic lunch for you. You could even do the circumnavigation on the water via one of the islands jet skis or paddle skis. The resort itself features four different levels of accommodation. Palm Rooms are the lead in rate and they range through to premium ocean view rooms. The resort is located on the northern side of the island so it is well protected from the prevailing south easterly winds and the beach that the resort fronts onto is a beautiful white sandy strip. The main swimming pool is actually built over the beach and enclosed by a rock retaining wall. The resort features a beautiful day spa to help get you into relaxation mode, great sporting and activity features like tennis courts, pool tables, archery, kayak and jet ski tours, exercise equipment, two swimming pools and a great restaurant and bar. Activities like bush walking, scuba diving, snorkeling and sailing on the islands catamaran fleet will fill your days with fun and excitement. If Brampton Island is one of the Whitsundays Island resorts that you havn't been to, your next holiday in the region could be the ideal time to come for a visit. »» Brampton Island |
